The name comes from Point Break: Bodhi, the surfer who robs banks for the adrenaline, and Johnny Utah, the FBI agent who goes undercover in his group and ends up swept along by his way of life. The house recreates a line from the film in which Bodhi asks for ninety seconds and asks why serve the law when you could invent your own rules. The perfume opens fresh and herbal, with cardamom and sage tea that recall a hot infusion. Then the iris brings a powdery touch and the tonka bean a warm sweetness, almost almond-like. In the end, incense and amber remain, a clean smoke that clings to your clothes like the smell of a bonfire on the beach.
Bodhi & Utah is an ambery and aromatic eau de parfum from Ephemeral Dyadic, the house that the artist Sinan Saul founded in a studio in Istanbul's industrial district. It is from the first collection, from 2023, and like the rest it comes with its text printed next to the bottle.
It's for anyone who wants a gentle incense, without church or darkness, and it works well in spring and autumn, during the day. It shares iris and incense with Psychic Vibrations, which adds burnt vanilla in layers, and the amber with Ozymandias, which takes it toward resin.
