Synopsis: Rescued from oblivion by students who located the reclusive author in a remote cabin in the Austrian Alps, this collection of Alpine fairy tales marks the return of the enigmatic writer Chunhua Luli. The protagonists of these stories are wild animals, but the tender lessons they impart go straight to the heart of the human condition. In the title story, a young fox becomes obsessed with a butterfly but ends up learning the dangers of infatuation. Other themes addressed include the advantages of relentless ambition, the importance and impact of beautiful objects, the quest for serenity, and the power of positive thinking.
